Bill Graham Posters Reprinted
As far as we are aware, only nine of David Singer's Bill Graham designs — all from the original series of BG posters — have been reprinted with a second edition. A second edition exists for these BG numbers: #180, #205, #210, #211, #214, #216, #227, #287 (the Closing Week Fillmore West poster), and #289 (the Rolling Stones Dice poster). The two editions of each of these numbers (with the exception of #287 and #289) are practically identical. However, a collector can determine the edition of some of them as described below.

Re BG#205 — there is a horizontal line from a registration bullet in the white border (extending about 1/8 inch in from the edge), halfway up the right side of the original printing, that was eliminated on the reprint.

Re BG#211 — there is a noticeable dot in the white border, a bit up and to the left of the upper right brown corner of the original printing, that was eliminated on the reprint.

Re BG#216 — there is a faint, vertical line (about an inch-and-a-half long) in the orange border of the original printing, right below the final D in DEAD. This hair-line on the original poster is noticeable, although hard to see without looking for it, but does not exist on the reprint.

Re BG#227 — there is a letter "w" (for Winterland) written after the poster number, at the bottom of the reprint. This is the only one of the nine reprints that was so marked.

Re BG#287 — a second edition was printed on a thinner stock, folded, and placed inside the Last Days of the Fillmore West album.

Re The Rolling Stones Dice poster (BG#289) — there is a very noticeable difference between the first and second printing of this work. When a poster from each edition is placed side by side, it can be clearly seen that the black of the original printing is more dense than the black of the reprint, and the paper of the reprint is also a bit thinner. In addition, on the original poster, there is a thin white line around the top and left side of the upper die, which was eliminated on the reprint.

Regarding the remaining BG numbers — #180, #210, and #214 — whether a partricular poster is a first or second edition is very difficult to determine, although a few experts claim they can do so.
